In a bizarre situation, a 28 years old guy set fire to a girl who is studying in 9th standard by pouring petrol on her and setting her on fire because she refuses his love affair proposal. The matter came before Madras High Court where the honorable court upheld the conviction of the subordinate court. Where the accused has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The court has also mentioned that the mindset of today’s generation developed from their home and family. To give respect towards women it should be taught from their roots, nowadays they simply cannot accept the rejection of women. The court also mentioned that today’s generations are lacking behind in emotional quotient this is all because today’s parents are over-pampering their kids instead of guiding them. The court also took concern and mentioned that these kinds of loathsome acts are rise in these days. It is high time that the educational system should give focuses on emotional quotient. The court came to the conclusion that there is not any valid ground to interfere with the original order and judgment passed by the lower court and subsequently dismissed the appeal of the accused.
